Did you know-46 percent of Americans will meet the criteria for a diagnosable mental health condition sometime in their life, and half of those people will develop conditions by the age of 14.
I know first hand. I have overcome personal challenges and trauma associated with growing up with a father who battled bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia. Additionally, I have survived the stigma and thrived after my own nervous breakthroughs. Hospitalized and misdiagnosed at age 28, I got the right diagnosis and help for my own anxiety and depression. That is why I am working to raise money to help MHC with the advocacy, education and services that improve mental health for all Connecticut residents.
